Sometimes it's tiresome, but it's exhilarating when you feel you've reached a balance point (not a final point - you are never finished polishing your story) and your story is always better than when it started. Even though I rarely get...That makes perfect sense. Even though I rarely get that "story writing itself" kind of moments, I do treat the story as Story, an entity of itself. The characters are people to me, and it's my job to get their tale figured out properly in order to convey that reality to others. It's the flip side of how I read. The characters are people to me.
