This will be a short post, because it's late.
The Nebulas have been amazing. I've met people who write for Analog magazine, and writers I've admired for years. I discovered that Sheila Williams from Asimov's knows my name (imagine my thrill of shock!). I got to chat with a movie writer/producer. I spoke to an agent about my book. I sat five feet away from Robert Silverberg at the banquet, and got to shake hands with Wil Wheaton.
It's been an exciting and emotional weekend.
I miss my beloved husband, and my two lovely children, very much.
I'll be going home tomorrow.
More soon...
That sounds great Juliette! Must be really exciting meeting all those people.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the weather ended up being nice for while you're here. I think it was a couple days ago it was all gloomy.

Btw, I just want to put this out there. Totally off-topic, but I'm not sure where else to put it. I've been getting a weird thing on your site specifically. Occassionally the site will start opening up duplicates of itself in popup windows and continuously sending them to me. This is very disturbing as it has happened numerous times and could potentially lock up my computer if I don't kill the process fast enough. I'll be looking into it to see if it's a general Blogger related issue, but I follow two other Blogger blogs and have never had the issue there. It could be a skin or tool or something that you're using here. If anyone else has this problem here let me know so I don't feel like I'm crazy.
Wow that sounds like it was great! Since I've joined Facebook I was surprised at how many people I knew who were attending.
ReplyDeleteColin, regarding the duplicating pop-ups, I haven't gotten that at this site, but I've gotten it at a few other sites recently since I got a new computer. Each time I use Alt+F4 to close windows as fast as I can, but it's never fast enough and I have to force the computer to shut off. No idea what causes it, but like I said it only happened since I got the new (refurbed) computer from Dell.
Don't worry Juliette. It's probably just me. I have the worst luck with technical stuff. I'll be looking into it myself anyways, but if any of your friends have input it'd be much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteCatreona,
ReplyDeleteYou've given me a great idea; thanks so much! Look for it in my next main post.
As for whether anything will come of the book discussion, the great news is, it has. The agent requested to see my full manuscript as soon as I finish it. The nice thing was, since the conversation was so relaxed and so unlike a cold pitch session, I was able to give her a really clear idea of where I was in my revisions, and she'll have realistic expectations about when to anticipate seeing it. I'm terribly excited about it.
Juliette,
ReplyDeleteWow! You have every right to be excited. Best of luck!
